It is easy to assume that the answer to that question is always yes, but that isn’t necessarily the case. Diamond stud earrings are very popular, as are diamond engagement rings and diamond wedding bands. However, your diamond jewelry could be saying all of the wrong things about you. Many people think that big fat diamonds with great clarity, cut and color are the epitome of style. However, I think that nothing looks trashier than a diamond engagement ring with a huge rock or diamond stud earrings so huge that they actually hide your earlobes.
People that wear diamond jewelry that obviously cost several thousands of dollars actually make me sick. The trinkets they wear as a symbol of their wealth could feed a child in a developing country for years. To me these people don’t look chic. Instead they look greedy, selfish and materialistic. Their jewelry shows lack of empathy and poor taste and subsequently they attract friends who are only interested in their money.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not disparaging diamond stud earrings and I don’t see anything wrong with wearing a diamond wedding band. It’s just that I think that less is more. If you are well off you don’t need to tell the world about it unless you are also a conceited snob. Dainty pieces with small rocks are far more elegant because they are understated and less obnoxious. The next time you purchase diamond jewelry, try to resist the urge to buy the biggest rocks available.
