diamond engagement ringHow would you feel if your boyfriend lost your diamond engagement ring? It does happen from time to time. However, most boyfriends do not lose their partner’s diamond engagement ring in a balloon like one British man did. A story at the Telegraph newspaper website describes how twenty-eight year old Lefkos Hajji wanted to make his engagement to his girlfriend memorable. He told a florist to put his girlfriend Leanne’s $6,000 diamond engagement ring inside a helium balloon but his romantic gesture went horribly wrong when a stray gust of wind blew the balloon out of his hand. He kept his eye on the balloon and pursued it in his vehicle for two hours. However, he felt like a fool when was unable to recover the balloon. Apparently, his girlfriend was angry when she found out what had happened. I can’t help but feel sorry for poor Lefkos. He made a rather expensive mistake. However, Leanne should feel fortunate. She may not have her diamond engagement ring, but she does have a future husband who knows how to be romantic and show his love in creative ways, and that’s priceless.
