Diamonds vs. Zirconium's


I have read where the rich and famous have copies made of their diamond pieces out of zirconium's.  The reason is that they don't want to have to go to a vault to get the original diamond piece, then run the risk of keeping it at home until they can get back to the vault.  Plus they like the idea that the jewelry is more light weight, and there is less worry about loss.

Some friends have also done the same thing, for other reasons, their diamonds were being stolen, and they were tired of replacing them.  So they wore zircon's and put the diamonds in their safes or vaults.

Can you imagine the security that surrounds the Royal Jewels?  I wonder if when the Queen decides to wear a piece, how long it takes to find it.  I suppose everything is cataloged and has an assigned place to be.

Just think of all the centuries these diamonds have been collected.  The stash must be amazing.
