This past few weeks have reminded me of the real Diamonds in our lives. It isn't jewelery, gems, gold, silver. The real Diamonds are the people in our lives.
In one week I attended three funerals. That was surely a first for me, and one I would not want any one to experience. Left me feeling sadness, while not a constant feeling, it creeps up now and again. The things... Read More |

Diamonds vs. Zirconium's
I have read where the rich and famous have copies made of their diamond pieces out of zirconium's. The reason is that they don't want to have to go to a vault to get the original diamond piece, then run the risk of keeping it at home until they can get back to the vault. Plus they like the idea that the jewelry is more light weight, and there is... Read More |

One of our local jewelers had an advertisement in the paper that I thought was neat. It read, "getting women into trouble, and men out of trouble since 1956"
I like going to the jewelry store to admire all that glitters. Whether it's diamond stud earrings, diamond bracelets, diamond wedding bands, heck, I like looking at all the stones.
Awhile back there is a post... Read More |

Valentines Day
Sweethearts day is here, have you enjoyed yours? I watched some of Oprah today and her first question went to a young man in the audience. She asked, if he had proposed to his girlfriend while waiting for the show to start. He said, yes and so did his lady. Gee, Oprah, diamond engagement ring, I'll bet this day will be long remembered.
I haven't heard... Read More |

Our newspaper ads this weekend were full of Valentine offerings. One ad I liked, had an offer of diamonds and roses, with an opportunity to enter a drawing for a pair of stud diamond earrings worth $50,000. I think I wouldn't mind being a winner of that drawing. I know, there are taxes to be paid. I wonder of a person could get a wholesale price for tax purposes.

Diamond Cuts
Cut determines the Light Performance of a diamond. Cut may be explained as "ideal" or "superior", using proportions and angles, these help predict the light performance of a diamond. Reflection and refraction determine a diamond's beauty.
White light = brilliance Color light = fire Changing colors = scintillation (when stone is moved)
Most jewelers provide a form... Read More |

Was walking at the local mall today. It surely is Valentine's Day advertising. Nearly every store window had a Valentine of some sort in it.
I thought the red's were beautiful, so really red. I found the little dresses were really little! Not even to the knee, I saw one dress that looked like baby doll pajamas, and I thought it was very cute. Matter of fact, I thought,... Read More |

Tiffany's
Well, there is a name to be dropped. Tiffany's have built a brand name, and created a strong desire to get one of those little blue boxes. Of course, because of all their work, their ability to charge large sums for their diamonds. They feel they are the best, and why settle for less.
Diamonds are negotiable, just like anything else. I understand that Tiffany... Read More |

Diamond Settings
The right setting can be just as important as choosing the diamond. Think of the setting as a representative statement of your style, the meaning of this diamond, and how you want that meaning presented to the world. Consider the following:
Will it be yellow gold, white gold or platinum? Will the band be simple or adorned with smaller stones? Does her taste... Read More |
